NARCOSIS aims at developing a fast, robust and reliable non-targeted multidisciplinary approach to harmonise investigations in DRDs and drug-related operations by means of an up-to-date and updateable diagnostic platform. It employs an innovative approach integrating novel instruments and techniques (AI-enabled) to classify and identify New Psychoactive Substance (NPS), with improved methods for information sharing and collaboration between different laboratories.
PARTICLE was present at the Security Research Event 2025 as part of the NARCOSIS project. At the NARCOSIS booth, it was possible to see some analytical instruments in action, as well as visualise presentations and movies about NARCOSIS.

In NARCOSIS, PARTICLE leads the work related with the Digital Platform responsible for sensor data management, digital spectra management and security. The platform implements the CWA 18096 standard on “CBRNe SENSOR API – Network Protocols, Data Formats and Interfaces” (see details here). PARTICLE will implement an interface exchange mechanisms with LEA systems (internal and cross-border). PARTICLE also provides mobile tools for investigators on-site.
The booth also included information about the RISEN project that was successfully concluded in 2025 (see more information here).
About the Security Research Event
The Security Research Event (SRE) is the forum where industry, policy makers, safety and security practitioners, knowledge institutions and critical infrastructure operators discuss security threats and challenges, and how EU research and innovation can contribute to tackle them.
The SRE 2025 took place on 24 and 25 June in Warsaw (Poland), at EXPO XXI. The main theme of 2025 edition was Boosting security through EU-based innovation. The conference deliberations were accompanied by exhibition. In more than 50 booths, solutions developed under the Horizon Framework Programmes, the Internal Security Fund and the Border Management and Visa Instrument illustrated the discussions of the Conference.

The NARCOSIS project is Funded by the European Union.
