{"id":1007,"date":"2024-03-04T12:40:38","date_gmt":"2024-03-04T12:40:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/particle-summary.pt\/wp\/?p=1007"},"modified":"2024-03-04T12:40:39","modified_gmt":"2024-03-04T12:40:39","slug":"particle-successful-participation-in-the-pemea-plug-tests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/particle-summary.pt\/wp\/2024\/03\/04\/particle-successful-participation-in-the-pemea-plug-tests\/","title":{"rendered":"PARTICLE Successful Participation in the PEMEA Plug Tests"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>From February 12<sup>th<\/sup> to 14<sup>th<\/sup>, PARTICLE joined in the first Pan-European Mobile Emergency Application (PEMEA) Plugtests&#x2122;\u00a0event that brought together in Sophia Antipolis, France, sixteen organisations from across Europe, in an initiative organised by ETSI in partnership with the PEMEA Consortium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PARTICLE brought for testing the Citizen Application <strong>SWAPP<\/strong> developed as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nightingale-triage.eu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NIGHTINGALE Project<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nightingale-triage.eu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.nightingale-triage.eu<\/a>) by PARTICLE, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inov.pt\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">INOV<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/cestel.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CESTEL<\/a>. The Application Tests successfully validated the SWAPP\u2019s interoperability with PEMEA core nodes and services, including instant messaging, real-time text and audio-video features. With CESTEL support, PARTICLE connected the SWAPP with the testing infrastructure and validated interoperable secure communications via TLS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In emergencies, <strong>SWAPP<\/strong> supports (1) citizen-to-emergency services communications and (2) citizen-to-citizen communications. In the citizen-to-emergency services communications mode, modern Internet Protocol (IP)-enabled communication capabilities allow citizens to contact emergency services using audio, text and video channels, effectively resulting in a democratic and universal access that displays also improved accessibility (e.g., deaf or hard of hearing citizens are able to use video and text to communicate with the 112 Service). Using <strong>SWAPP<\/strong>, citizens may register to the pool of volunteers and share their profile with other fellow volunteers, providing details of their competences and skills on first aid, emergency assistance, medical support and triage know-how. In addition, it is possible for citizens to create specific groups to exchange information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the Plug Tests, the SWAPP\u2019s PEMEA functions were successfully tested and demonstrated with PSAP systems from three different countries, namely Finland, Romania and Slovenia.
